New Explosion-Proof Supervised Strobe Extends Mounting Options

Signaling Device

Federal Signal introduces the 24XST, the industry's first explosion-proof, supervised strobe light approved for mounting in any direction--including dome up! Federal Signal Corporation's new 24XST is the industry's first explosion-proof, 4-wired strobe light that covers the entire range of possible mounting configurations – including dome up.  Available in 24VDC, the 24XST is specifically engineered to simplify installation and reduce maintenance, which makes it uniquely suited for explosion-proof and corrosive environments ranging from oil rig platforms and mines, to refineries and chemical plants. Producing 60 high-intensity flashes per minute, the 24XST features a unique current in-rush limiting PCB design to enhance compatibility with inrush-sensitive devices.  When powered by 24VDC, this exclusive design operates on only 0.71A, while limiting peak inrush to just 2A.  A Synchronization Module (SSM) is available for synchronizing multiple lights. The easy-to-install 24XST comes with a standard ceiling mount with pendant and wall mount hardware optionally available.  Once the mounting box is installed, the fixture is simply threaded onto the mounting box producing an electrical connection once threads are engaged.  The heavy duty, copper-free cast aluminum housing is sealed with black powder coat paint.  Available in six lens colors, the 24XST's strobe tube is rated for 10,000 hours.  Type 4X and IP66 enclosure.
