Features

Programmable Siren and Light Control
The Federal Signal Pathfinder® PF400 is a programmable siren and light controller available with remote surface-mount or handheld controller options. The PF400 features multi-tone capabilities, Rumbler® traffic-clearing functionality, and optional On-Board Diagnostics (OBDII) integration. Designed for ease of installation, the Pathfinder incorporates Convergence Network Configuration Software to deliver a high level of customizable control.

Customizable Controls for Police Operations
The PF400 gives officers direct control of the siren, warning lights, directional lights, and other vehicle-mounted accessories. All controller options feature programmable buttons that support press-on/off, momentary, timed, step-thru, and multiple flash patterns. Button brightness can be dimmed or turned off for stealth operation. More than 100 pre-printed labeling stickers—including alley, gun lock, and wail—provide additional customization.

Seamless Vehicle Integration
With Federal Signal’s Convergence Network Configuration Software, the Pathfinder connects seamlessly to a vehicle’s light bar for plug-and-play functionality. It also supports the cloning of siren settings across an entire fleet, ensuring consistent and uniform operation.

High-Performance Sound Output
The Pathfinder PF400 can drive from one to four 100-watt speakers and is suitable for use in 100-watt systems while meeting SAE J1849 and NFPA standards. Recommended setup configurations are available for download to support proper installation.

Pathfinder with Q-Siren® Built In
For fire command vehicles and ambulances that lack bumper space for a traditional mechanical siren, Pathfinder is available with the legendary Federal Signal Q-Siren® built in. This integration delivers the unmistakable Q-Siren tone that clears traffic quickly, while eliminating the need for separate hardware and complex wiring. By combining Pathfinder’s advanced programmable controls with the proven authority of the Q-Siren, departments can equip smaller emergency vehicles with a streamlined, space-saving warning system that maintains the same presence and reliability trusted on full-size apparatus.

Expandable System Options
The Pathfinder system can be expanded with additional modules, including a rear expansion module, 24-channel and 32-channel Expansion Modules, a Power Distribution Module, and an On Scene Sync Module. Detailed information about these options and their applications is available in the downloadable data sheet or by contacting a Federal Signal Sales Representative.

Warnings

Audible Equipment may produce LOUD sounds necessary to request the right-of-way. Audible equipment may cause hearing damage. Wear hearing protection. Refer to the Installation Manual or call 800/433-9132 for further instructions.

Important Warning for Police Boats and Fire Rescue Boats

It has come to our attention that police boat and fire rescue boat sirens and speakers may subject persons operating those craft to sound pressure levels that can cause permanent hearing loss. We recommend that speakers be located as far forward on the boat as possible, as recommended in the SAE Recommended Practice J1849 “Emergency Vehicle Sirens”. However, unprotected exposures of a sufficient duration to properly located siren speakers can still create a risk of hearing loss.

It is our recommendation that your siren speakers should be relocated and persons operating these craft should wear hearing protection when using the siren system.

Failure to comply with these recommendations may result in temporary or permanent hearing loss to operators and passengers of these vehicles.
