Features

Federal Signal PA4000 Emergency Siren
The PA4000 is a full-featured, programmable, emergency siren and light control system with a remote-control head that can be flush mounted to any flat surface. 

Controller features a rotary switch, programmable buttons, volume control, speaker diagnostic LEDs, and microphone. Buttons can be programmed for on/off, momentary, and multiple blinking styles and  can be programmed through the Convergence Network Configuration Software. Diagnostic LEDs provide the operating status of the police siren amplifier outputs. The LEDs are programmable with the Convergence Network Configuration Software.

Electronic siren tones include wail, yelp, priority, and air horn with other emergency siren sounds available in the software. Two serial ports can be used with FS Convergence Network devices such as light bars or warning lights for easy “plug-n-play” installation. Other features include horn ring transfer, public address with microphone, and radio rebroadcast.

The PA4000 electronic siren system is available with Rumbler® Traffic Clearing capability. This allows the electronic siren system to produce a Rumbler tone without a separate externally mounted amplifier. Rumbler capability requires the purchase of Rumbler woofers and vehicle-specific mounting kit. Dual-tone capability cannot be utilized with the Rumbler capability unless a complete  RUMBLER-C2 or RUMBLER-SOLO, which includes the additional amplifier, is purchased.

The Federal Signal Vehicle Integration is a simple plug-in connection. The FS Vehicle Integration uses a vehicle-specific cable (sold separately) allowing light and emergency siren control. FS Vehicle Integration removes the need to wire other options separately.

The Convergence Network Configuration Software is downloadable from the Federal Signal website.

Warnings

Audible Equipment may produce LOUD sounds necessary to request the right-of-way. Audible equipment may cause hearing damage. Wear hearing protection. Refer to the Installation Manual or call 800/433-9132 for further instructions.

Important Warning for Police Boats and Fire Rescue Boats

It has come to our attention that police boat and fire rescue boat sirens and speakers may subject persons operating those craft to sound pressure levels that can cause permanent hearing loss. We recommend that speakers be located as far forward on the boat as possible, as recommended in the SAE Recommended Practice J1849 “Emergency Vehicle Sirens”. However, unprotected exposures of a sufficient duration to properly located siren speakers can still create a risk of hearing loss.

It is our recommendation that your siren speakers should be relocated and persons operating these craft should wear hearing protection when using the siren system.

Failure to comply with these recommendations may result in temporary or permanent hearing loss to operators and passengers of these vehicles.
