Features

The Federal Signal AS124 siren speaker uses advanced housing material and field-replaceable Neodymium drivers to provide an effective, high-quality emergency and police siren sound. The AS124 is an affordable 100 W siren speaker solution that does not compromise sound output. 

The AS124 siren speaker housing is molded from composite plastic — 30% glass-filled PET (polyethylene terephthalate). This high-strength composite is a chemical resistance material to maintain rigidity at high temperatures. 

The driver component of the AS124 siren speaker is made of a Neodymium magnetic material. Neodymium is a robust and efficient driver material. The Federal Signal AS124 meets SAE J1849, CCR Title 13, and Class “A” specification requirements for sound output.

The AS124 siren speaker can be mounted on a bumper or installed behind the grille of various police cars. The Federal Signal siren speaker comes with mounting bolts and a hardware kit, allowing for easy installation under the hood of most police cars and fire trucks. The AS124 driver is field replaceable and can be easily rotated, allowing for either vertical or horizontal mount orientation.

Warnings

Important Warning for Police Boats and Fire Rescue Boats

It has come to our attention that police boat and fire rescue boat sirens and speakers may subject persons operating those craft to sound pressure levels that can cause permanent hearing loss. We recommend that speakers be located as far forward on the boat as possible, as recommended in the SAE Recommended Practice J1849 “Emergency Vehicle Sirens”. However, unprotected exposures of a sufficient duration to properly located siren speakers can still create a risk of hearing loss.

It is our recommendation that your siren speakers should be relocated and persons operating these craft should wear hearing protection when using the siren system.

Failure to comply with these recommendations may result in temporary or permanent hearing loss to operators and passengers of these vehicles.
