Features

650 Series Remote Microphone-Controlled Emergency Vehicle Siren
Federal Signal’s 650 series emergency vehicle siren allows for all sound and light functions to be enabled by rubberized buttons located on the unit’s compact and easy-to-use microphone control head. The microprocessor-based amplifier exemplifies Federal Signal’s commitment to remain today’s unmatched leader in the field of siren technology.

All siren and light functions are located on the 650 series microphone. Ten rubberized buttons control three progressive “slide switch-like” positions on the siren remote:  on/off, PA, Air Horn, Peak-and-Hold, tone switching, and up to 30-amps of additional auxiliary power. The microphone controller “snaps” into a small plastic siren remote junction box where PA volume and a secondary on-off switch are located, then runs directly to the 650 series amplifier. Both of these connections are plug-and-play via eight conductor telephone jacks. An innovative microphone holder that can rotate and pivot to almost any angle allows for various remote siren installation possibilities.

The 650 series remote siren provides 100 W speaker output and can operate from any 12 Vdc negative ground vehicle electrical system. It is short-circuit protected and can be powered through an installed power distribution center (PDC), or directly from the vehicle’s battery. Siren series reliability and efficiency are maximized by the use of advanced microprocessor-based technology. The 650 Series amplifier comes equipped with (8) 10 A light or auxiliary relay connections, is horn ring control ready, and has its own bracket mount to allow for quick and easy removal or replacement. Also provided is a 16.5-ft wire harness and all necessary hardware.

Includes remote siren 10 button controller switch operation for ease of use.

Important Warning for Police Boats and Fire Rescue Boats

It has come to our attention that police boat and fire rescue boat sirens and speakers may subject persons operating those craft to sound pressure levels that can cause permanent hearing loss. We recommend that speakers be located as far forward on the boat as possible, as recommended in the SAE Recommended Practice J1849 “Emergency Vehicle Sirens”. However, unprotected exposures of a sufficient duration to properly located siren speakers can still create a risk of hearing loss.

It is our recommendation that your siren speakers should be relocated and persons operating these craft should wear hearing protection when using the siren system.

Failure to comply with these recommendations may result in temporary or permanent hearing loss to operators and passengers of these vehicles.
